Name & birthplace: Michael W. Moore. Houston, TX
What is your current or most recent project? Internal Chaos, the second of the trilogy to For What Hate I Do is my current project. It is scheduled for release late September to early October 2007. What motivated me to write a trilogy about my past life was the fact that I was a hurting person who’s been redeemed from that hurt. And now I’m compelled to help others who are suffering from self hatred and fear. What is your earliest memory of being a writer? When I was incarcerated in a nine by six cell in a Texas penitentiary at the age of 38. When were you first published? And under what circumstances? I was first published December 31st 2005. I decided not to wait on a publishing house instead I saved my money and self-published.
How do you identify and nurture ideas for new projects? I keep my eyes and ears astute.

What authors/writers/performers have influenced your artistic style? My influences for writing are E. Lynn Harris because of his bravery, Walter Mosley due to his raw style of writing, and Paul the Apostle because of his inspired words of truth. What 2 books or CDs should everyone should own? The two books are The Bible and A Purpose Driven Life. My CD’s choices are any CD’s by Yolanda Adams and Mozart. Do you believe LGBGT authors have an obligation to the LGBT community? We all have a responsibility for each other. Those of us who have been enlightened are obligated to uplift another human being. It’s about being in the people business. What is the biggest misconception about you and/or your work? The biggest misunderstanding is the sex factor. I write to expose the ugly side of addictive behaviors, and with that I unveil the acts which are raw and real, not pretty and packaged.
Do you currently attend church? If so, were you afraid of any backlash from your pastor or church when you decided to write the book? I belong to the largest UMC in the country and my Pastor embraced the book, yet we both are aware that healing is a process and honesty takes courage.
